Hiatus

Hey, all. Sorry I haven't been posting lately - it's been finals week here in the world of not-fun-land. However, I think I'll be taking a blogging break. I go through these cycles of being super-into the internet and other sorts of technical stuff, and then being less enthralled by technology. (Side note: I refused to get a cell phone for a good 6 months before my mom just brought one home for me. Then I refused to text until around age 17.) Anyways, I still look at my favorite blogs, and I might occasionally be back here, but until then, I will be riding off into the sunset to persude other activities, mainly my re-reading of the entire Harry Potter series, painting my dresser, work, and enjoying my month of summer. Later lovelies!

As We Lay Among the Heather

Happy Sunday! The summer heat still hasn't reached the coastal town I live in yet, so it's been reminding me of last summer when I went to England for a week. The weather was quite similar, but it's more windy here. It makes me want to wear this dress. The thistle print gets me everytime. I guess there has to be something edgy or sharp about the floral prints I wear - no soft, dusty, petite florals, only bold, stylized flowers for me.

Dress: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Nine West via DSW
Hair clip: From etsy
Earrings: Claire's

Title from Tarkio's "Keeping Me Awake." This song reminds me of England as well.

A thank you to you for stopping by my blog!

Jane is not photogenic.

Executive Decision

Happy Saturday! Yesterday was my best friend's 21st birthday, so I put on my party jeggings and hit her backyard with her. Apart from the usual shenanigans that party people get up to, it was a lovely party full of good, clean mischief. In the words of my best friend, this oufit makes me "look like I should go to a meeting were people lose their corporate jobs, then go to a party." The best kind of outfit, really.

Shirt: Urban Outfitters
Jeggings: Target (they're more jeans than jeggings, which is awesome)
Shoes: Nordstrom
Earrings: Shop on 4th Street in Long Beach
Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Belt: Target

The light was pretty bad and I was in a hurry, so I didn't get any detail shots. My earrings are pistols and my necklace is that old snake necklace. I painted my nails a dark, deep purple/black at my friend's house.

Good clean fun, as denoted by the coffee pots (2!) on the pong table. Ignore the fact that those pots are filled with beer, or that those guys are making flaming Dr. Pepper shots.

Tights in the Summertime

Hellooo! Hope everyone had a lovely Thursday. Mine was pretty wizard fabulous. It consisted of the last day of actual class for my labor literature class, my favorite romper, wife-time, and shopping at Target. I now own a pair of "jeggings," except I like to think they're just stretchy jeans because they look more jean like than most jeggings I have seen. My beloved pair of Levi 503's are getting too old, and 503's are no more! Sad day.

Romper: Love Culture in Tacoma Mall
Tights: Target
Boots: Target
Cardigans: Teal/Urban Outfitters, Black/Old Navy
Hair Pin: Forever 21

Lace! It is still weirdly cold and humid for summer in southern California. NOT COOL!

One of the Target purchases.

It's days like these when I wish I had my own photographer, or at least a better camera. Especially one not 5 years old.

I also wish I had a tan.

Polka Dotted Double Feature

You can thank 'The Prestige' for my late posting - a friend tricked me into thinking it would be a good movie. Not so! Said friend and I met up for dinner at one of the 4 Irish pubs/bars on my town's Main Street (I went with 1 of 3 vegetarian items on the menu, while he went native with the Corned Beef sandwich), then came back to my house to watch 'Whip It' and that awful magician movie. Ugh. I was having so much fun until those magicians showed up. I much prefer wizards. Specifically, Harry Potter.
Today was weirdly humid and cold again. This weather needs to stop NOW. However, I do love this outfit, even if I am wearing black jeans in the summer.

Shirt: Ann Taylor Loft
Jeans: Levi's from discount mall store. (They don't make Levi 503's anymore! I'm so upset.)
Shoes: Target
Necklace: Urban Outfitters

My sunflowers are getting so big! Then again, I'm only 5 feet and 2 inches.

Bah, this light really shows off my run-in with black hair dye. Never again, black dye, never again!

Seniorita Librarian

Hello, hello! My friend called me a seniorita librarian today. That pretty much sums up this outfit.

Shirt: Forever 21
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Birthday gift from Grandma

My super old camera was NOT cooperating with me today. Nothing is really in focus.

Feline Prints-cess

Hey all! Today has been very long. I feel like all I ever talk about is work and school, but seriously folks, that's all my life has become. But the light at the end of the tunnel is growing stronger! July 29th is my last day of class, and then I'm free from UCI! I just hope that light doesn't turn out to be the Finals Train, and leaves me squashed under it. We just got our midterms back for my Literary Theory class...clearly, I had no idea what Longinus and Plato were talking about. But in all honesty, I don't think they did either.

Anyways, today I tried out an outfit I affectionately refer to as "positively feline." Leopard? Check. Form-fitting pencil skirt? Check. Cat-eye make-up? Check. Meow. ("Do I look like a cat to you boy? Am I jumpin' around all nimbly bimbly from tree to tree? Am I drinking milk from a saucer? DO YOU SEE ME EATING MICE?" Oh, Super Troopers...I forgot how much I loved you until today at work.)

Shirt: Gift, originally from Forever 21
Skirt: Thrifted
Shoes: Target
Belt: Thrifted

I decided to mix brown and black today! I felt so daring, with my gold eyeliner and whatnot. I think the cream and gold tones help tie the two colors together.

Getting all artsy on you.
